Our World attended the latest Holochain DevCamp (#5) :)
Greetings Friends,
We have pleasure to announce that we attended the latest Holochain DevCamp, which was the 5th DevCamp. We had a great time and learnt a lot and it was awesome to meet fellow Holochain developers who are just as passionate about the tech as we are and also wish to use technology to help make the world a better place...
This is what we love about the wonderful Holochain community, we all are not in it for the money, we only care about solving world problems with the use of innovative technology whereas in most Blockchain communities as well as others people seem to be possessed with money and getting rich quick. All a selfish pursuit and a pointless one at that if there is no planet left to enjoy your quick earnt riches, which you cannot even take to the grave with you anyway so what is the point? Isn't it better to leave your kids a planet for when you are gone?
Anyway, back to the DevCamp, we found it very valuable especially getting to grips more with Rust, which is the language you need to use to code Holochain apps currently. That is until we get our .NET HDK project off the ground, which we are still waiting for devs to help us with...
If you would like to get involved with this or any other area we would love to hear from you. It doesn't need to be dev, it can be design, PR, marketing, anything! ;-)
Please contact us on ourworld@nextgensoftware.co.uk. Thank you.
We have found the greatest obstacle getting up to speed with Holochain is Rust, because it is not the most intuitive language with its odd syntax that is nothing like any other language we have used or come across, we can read pretty much any language and see what it is doing even if we have never coded with it before, but with Rust this is much harder, but in time we will get there, we just need to spend a lot more time getting up to speed with it! :) This was another one of the incentives to get the .NET HDK done, as well as opening up the massive .NET & Unity ecosystems to the holochain community, which will help turbocharge the new ecosystem we are cocreating... :)
We are looking forward to the next DevCamp, we hope the hours and timezone work for us like this one did.
In Love, Light & Hope,
The Our World Team.
